Year 12 Speed Interviews
Our year 12 students took part in a speed interviewing event today with our Lloyds partnership. Students were given the opportunity to ask numerous volunteers questions about their own career path and the various sectors that are available when working in an investment bank. Many students had preconceived ideas about banking and didn’t realise that there are many career paths available to them from Law, Marketing, HR, Media, PR etc. At the end of the interviews students were then given advice on CV writing and interview skills.
In the afternoon session select students were invited to come and work with the Lloyds volunteers on issues surrounding the recent Brexit decision by the UK. The students were highly engaged in the debate and activities around this subject. It was very interesting to observe that many of the students believed they should have had the right to vote like Scotland teenagers. The students impressed our
representatives from Lloyds citing their concerns over Foreign exchange rate, loss of talent, lack of freedom of movement, studying abroad as just a few of the issues they felt directly affected them from Thursdays decision.
