Update: Important info re student safety

We have received further information from the local police regarding a series of sexual assaults on young school girls aged between 13-16 years of age on their way to and from school in the Greenwich and Lewisham Boroughs.  This has included an assault on a young person in the vicinity of our school around  8 o’clock in the morning just this week.   We are sending out advice and guidance to students via tutor groups, a summary of which is below:-
  •  the description of the male is that he is aged between 30 and 50 years old.
  • he has white/blond/grey hair, which is shorter at the sides.
  • all Plumstead Manor students should avoid walking home alone, and should go straight home.
  • do not walk in unlit areas or areas where there are not many people.
  • Run, Tell, Yell if you are worried about anything.
  • students should go to the nearest safe place if they are concerned, and can come straight into school (or come back to school) if they want to.
  • everyone should keep headphones and phones out of sight, particularly so they can hear and see what’s going on around them.
  • call 999 if you feel in danger or need to report a concern.
