DONMAR WAREHOUSE PROJECT

Year 12 Drama and Theatre A level students are currently participating in the Donmar Warehouse Project, working with professional theatre practitioners to explore a multitude of themes from the Donmar’s current adaptation of ‘The Tempest’ with an all-female cast. Over the course of 8 weeks these students are devising an original piece of theatre based on the themes that they explore through the workshops and they will perform this piece in the Donmar’s professional theatre to an audience on Friday 2nd December 2016.

ACHIEVE YOUR GREATNESS

A selection of 25 Year 7 students have been chosen to participate in the Achieve Your Greatness project, run by the Abraham Wilson Foundation. The project allows these lucky participants to work with professional Jazz musicians, spoken word artists, dancers and actors in order to create a multidisciplinary performance. These students will perform their pieces on Friday 21st October 2016 at 3pm in The Space at Plumstead Manor School.

OLD VIC Schools Club – 2016-2017

'Old Vic Schools Club' nurtures talent, inspires young people and opens up opportunities for students to attend the theatre for free. The project develops the next generation of theatre practitioners, many of whom go on to get major commissions, directing posts, senior management positions and become household names.

In Autumn 2015 Drama students made a written application to take part in Old Vic School Clubthe OVNV project.
This is a very exciting offer that allows the students the opportunity to visit the Old Vic Theatre for the whole of this year’s season. They take part in four workshops prior to seeing the performance and then get to see the plays. We are so pleased we have been offered this project for the third year running. Only 30 students can take part so the applications had to be of a high quality. Thankfully, our Year 10 Drama GCSE students are participating in this project currently.

First workshop – 9th November 2016, First performance – 16th November, King Lear
